Jandy and I decided it would be fun to see the sites around Richmond. Every time I see one site I learn about 10 more. Friday we got up early and went to Charlottesville to see Montpelier (Madison's Home). It is under construction. They are making it look like it did when he was alive. Then we went to Michie tavern (pronounced Mickey). Ate a huge authentic 1780's meal, dressed up, and learned some fun facts.
Although I had a great Thanksgiving last year in New York I decided I was ready for a more traditional feast this year. I didn't go home because I wanted to spend a longer time there during Christmas. Jandy and I made quite the feast though. We had it all-Turkey, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, corn, peas, rolls, green jello, cranberry jelly, homemade raspberry jam. What more could you ask for. I wasn't sure if I wanted to invest the time in making homemade rolls and by the time I decided I had to have them the turkey was done. But the rolls were ready for late night leftovers and turkey sandwiches. And, since we didn't have any company there was no stress over lumpy gravy. Can you tell which is the before picture and which is the after?
Yea, I finally re-imaged my personal computer so that I could use it again. The thing I am most excited about is being able to video conference and see all the little ones again.

My sisters big thing these days is blogging so every time I talk to them they ask if I have seen their blogs and when I am going to update mine. I guess for me this is just like cell phones. It takes me a while to get into it but when I do...hence having two cell phones now (okay one is for work).

It's All About Me

To be known-"I think therefore I am"--RenĂ© Descartes. I am because I am. We have always existed and will always exist. But to truly exist I believe is to be known. Do we not all have some need to know that we are known? I believe it is our connections with others that truly allow us to be. If we exist in a vacuum do we truly exist? We may think, we may believe we exist, but do we? In Tuesdays with Moriey, Moriey likes to quote, “we must love or die”. To know others is to love. In one of my favorite movies A Mirror Has Two Faces Rose says, “I'd love it if someone knew me, I mean really knew me. What I like, what I'm afraid of, what kind of toothpaste I use.”So to the great cosmic universe and all others wishing to peruse my blog here is some toothpaste illumination.
